LAWI Project Award - ISW Power Plant, South Korea
LAWI contribution to a greener future: Contract Award for a new industrial waste power plant in Busan, South Korea
LAWI goes Busan - LAWI Engineering has been awarded and signed the contract for the design and supply of the LAWI EtaComb® incineration system together with the EtaPlant® boiler design for an industrial solid waste (ISW) fired 27.5 MWth power plant in Busan, South Korea.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-2025 and will process up to 117 tons of industrial waste per day, generating electricity for the local grid and process steam for industrial consumers in the surrounding industrial estate.
The waste-to-energy power plant will use LAWI Engineering's state-of-the-art technology and applying the newest generation of LAWI’s water cooled moving grate and waste-fuel-inlet system. The technology ensures high efficiency, low emissions, and compliance with the strict environmental standards of South Korea. The waste-to-energy power plant will also contribute to the circular economy, by reducing the landfilling of waste, recovering valuable resources, and creating green jobs.
The project owner is HLB Energy, a subsidiary of the HLB Group in Korea, who plans to create a clean and pleasant environment through the expansion of incineration facilities and the renovation of pollution prevention facilities. LAWI Engineering is honored to be part of this ambitious and strategic project, which demonstrates our expertise and experience in the waste to energy sector. We look forward to working closely with our partners and stakeholders, to deliver a successful and sustainable industrial waste power plant for HLB, as well as Busan and South Korea.
