Korea: LAWI Certification of WtE Grate Technology

July 2023, LAWI Engineering’s water cooled grate technology together with the LAWI EtaComb® incineration and boiler design has been officially certified for operation in South Korea for industrial waste fuels (ISW/SRF).

The application of the LAWI SRF fired plant in Yeoncheon (Firing Capacity: 16.6 MWth) proved the suitability of the technology based on the successful operation.

The plants’ stability and emission control convinced the experts from the Korean Authority Korea Environment Corporation to certify the LAWI waste incineration technology including the LAWI water cooled moving grate as a proven technology that is suitable for the south Korean market.

This is another milestone that show the leading design approach of LAWI’s combustion and incineration design and its wide application opportunities. LAWI is subsequently looking forward to provide the LAWI EtaComb® technology to the challenging market of South  Korea’s waste management industry.
